A technical design document template for developers and technical architects building extensions in Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management. It links each design item back to the approved FDD and covers design principles, architecture, models and packages, branching, data model changes, user interface, business logic with Chain of Command and event handlers, reports, integrations and data entities, SysOperation batch jobs, workflow, security privileges, labels and feature control. It closes with non-functional design, unit and integration tests, code quality gates, deployment and rollback steps, a full object list and a technical review checklist.

How to use it
- Start a TDD only after the related FDD is approved, and reference its ID and version in Document Control.
- Map every FDD component and business rule to a row in Scope of Development so nothing is missed or added without approval.
- Agree the model, package and object naming prefix before any code is written.
- Complete the detailed design subsections that apply; mark the rest Not applicable. Prefer standard frameworks and extensions over custom patterns.
- Define security privileges for every new menu item, data entity and service operation, and list all user-facing text as labels.
- Define unit and integration tests with expected results, and confirm the code quality gates before code review.
- Complete the object list and deployment steps, get technical approval, and update the document whenever the build deviates from the design.
