A job search tracker built for freshers and early-career professionals who are applying to many roles at once. The Applications sheet records company, role, source, resume version and status, and calculates days since your last update and when to follow up next. The Interviews sheet captures each round, the questions you were asked and whether you sent a thank-you note, with the company name pulled in automatically. The Contacts sheet keeps your network organized. The Summary shows your funnel from applications to interviews and offers, plus your response rate, so you can see what is working and adjust.

What's inside

  • Applications: One row per application. Follow-up is due seven days after the last update, unless the application is closed.
  • Interviews: One row per interview round. Company fills in from the App ID.
  • Contacts: Recruiters, alumni, referrers and hiring managers in your network.
  • Summary: key numbers calculated automatically from your data
  • Drop-down lists, worked example rows and formulas you can rely on

How to use it

  1. Add every role you are serious about on the Applications sheet, even before you apply. Use status Saved for roles you plan to apply to.
  2. Give each application a unique App ID (for example A001) and note which resume version you sent, so you can see which version gets responses.
  3. Update Status and Last update every time something happens. Next follow-up is set seven days after the last update, and the Follow-up column flags when it is due.
  4. Log each interview round on the Interviews sheet with the App ID. The company name fills in automatically. Write down the questions while they are fresh.
  5. Send a short thank-you note within 24 hours of each interview and mark it on the Interviews sheet.
  6. Keep recruiters, alumni and referrers on the Contacts sheet, and set a next step for each.
  7. Review the Summary weekly. A low response rate usually means your resume or targeting needs work; few offers after interviews means interview practice.
